The
Institute of Mathematics, Hanoi, Vietnam, and the Abdus Salam International Centre for Theoretical
Physics (ICTP), Trieste, Italy, are
organizing a School and Workshop on Polynomial Automorphisms and Related Topics from
October 9 to October 20, 2006, in Hanoi, Vietnam. The aim of the
conference is to introduce mathematicians from the developing countries in Asian
to recent developments in the field of Polynomial Automorphisms and its related
topics in Commutative Algebra and Affine geometry and to promote collaboration
between mathematicians from different developing and developed countries in this field.
Main Topics
- Polynomial Automorphisms;
- Jacobian Conjecture and Related topics:
Group actions, locally nilpotent derivations, the Cancellation Problem, Linearization
Conjectures, Embedding problem;
- Topology of polynomials;
- Global diffeomorphisms.

1- Advanced School, October 9-13, 2006:
There will be 5 instructional courses for graduate students and young mathematicians from
the developing countries in Asian on the following topics:
- Polynomial Automorphisms-David Wright, Washington
University in St. Louis, USA.
- The Jacobian conjecture-Arno Vanden Essen, Radboud
University of Nijmegen, Netherlands.

Mathematics, Vietnam.
2- Workshop, October 16-20, 2006:
This is devoted to an International Conference on recent developments in the field
of Polynomial Automorphisms and its related topics in Commutative Algebra and Affine
Geometry. Beside invited
lectures and talks there will be opportunities for mathematicians to present
their research works .
Participation
The school and the workshop are open to all mathematicians.
Attending the Advanced School being would be optional. Registration form is
obtainable from the website of the Institute of Mathematics, Hanoi, Vietnam.
Conference free: 100 USD.
Support
As a rule, travel and subsistence expenses of the
participants should be borned by the home institutions. However, limited funds are
available for some participants from and working in the developing countries in Asian . The
application form is obtainable from http://agenda.ictp.trieste.it/smr.php?1788
